Imagine the excitement every time you are given the responsibility of servicing and maintaining a part of history. Whether new or old, every timepiece has a stake in the past because successive accomplishments in precision and accuracy build on the past successes of our industry. With a multitude of precisely adjusted and fitted parts, the watch operates with a precision that reveals great strides in technology. Your responsibility as a watchmaker is to ensure these masterpieces will accurately measure time for generations while simultaneously respecting their historical significance.

The watchmaker fills the critical role of technical customer service. Like any mechanical mechanism, the watch requires periodic maintenance and service. This support is necessary to maintain and even increase the value of the timepiece for the consumer.

The ever-increasing demand for luxury watches translates into a growing demand for qualified craftsmen and women to service these products. To help meet this demand, the Institute of Swiss Watchmaking was founded in 2008 to provide dedicated, career-minded individuals with the education and training to become a part of this exciting profession. Dedicated to surpassing the highest educational standards, the Institute of Swiss Watchmaking fully utilizes their Partnerships status with WOSTEP to provide you with the most advanced education and skill set possible to meet the exacting requirements of the “Swiss Made” standard.

Today, the Institute of Swiss Watchmaking provides its curriculum in Fort Worth, Texas (North American Institute of Swiss Watchmaking - NAIOSW) and in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Institute of Swiss Watchmaking - HKIOSW) with new schools under development as the market for watchmakers continues to grow.
